Hey guys, it's been a while since I've talked about anything that wasn't just a quick art update or status report so I wanted to take this opportunity to talk about the cool new project I'm working on. For years, one of my bestest and most dearest friends in the world, DrakeTheDuelist has been working on a big project, dubbed Science and Sorcery. For years, it's taken the form as a series or short stories and vignettes, but after getting a degree in programming, he decided to take his amazingly intricate universe of characters and history and put them in a medium that can really work for them: he's making a video game. And guess who's doing the character designs and character sprites? That's right, yours truly.
Not only is this project my first foray into the world of game design, it's also one of my first major professional projects (beforehand I've mostly done small commissions and my own self-driven projects) and it's one I'm thrilled to death to do. Drake doesn't get much attention for his work, which is a freaking shame because he is genuinely an amazing writer. His characters are diverse, interesting and always feel real. I won't be able to show too much work of what I'm doing for a while, since there's a lot of stuff that needs to stay underwraps while the game is being developed, but in the meantime, I really, really encourage all my fans to check out the stuff Drake has worked on, and even get a chance to check out the beta version of the game. It's an RPG and it's free, and eventually will feature my art, so what more could you ask for?
I will be posting some work in the future, but in the meantime, go to draketheduelist.deviantart.com to see more about the game and the history of Science and Sorcery. You won't regret it.
